Due to the rising demand for excellent fuel economy, hybrid and electric vehicles have become quite popular in recent years. Many automakers have set their sights on high-mpg hybrids, working to refine the same old hybrid design. Chevrolet’s new Volt has changed that idea.
The 2012 Volt is an electric vehicle with a surprise inside. It is driven using an electric motor, but it also has a gas generator to recharge the battery. This means that regular driving will not require the use of gas, for up to 35 miles. However, when making long trips, there is never a worry of running out of fuel, because the gasoline generator will kick in for extended range. Watch this video for an in-depth review of the Volt and some of its more interesting features.
