Fuel Efficient Design
Following stricter government standards, all new Chevy cars and trucks will focus on improving fuel efficiency, but that doesn’t mean that the 2013 Corvette will be a pushover on the road. Thanks to improved aerodynamics and a smaller, but equally powerful V8 engine, the new Corvette will be one of the most fuel-efficient American supercars on the road when it debuts.
At the heart of the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette is an all-new 5.5-liter V8 that will generate approximately 440 horsepower. And despite the fact that this new engine is more powerful than the current 430-horsepower 6.2-liter V8, it will deliver better fuel efficiency thanks to such features as direct-injection and a higher compression rating.
The new Corvette’s performance is further aided by a diet of light-weight composite materials, such as aluminum and magnesium, dropping the car’s curb weight to about 3,000 pounds. In addition to making the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette more fuel efficient than the current model, this new lightweight design will also help the vehicle when it comes to acceleration, handling, and cornering.
The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette is expected to reach dealerships in the fourth-quarter of 2012. When the new Corvette becomes available, be sure to visit Nash Chevrolet to test drive one for yourself. For additional vehicle information, contact us online or dial (770) 963-9266.
